Abstract: Recent advances in nanotechnology have improved and revolutionize many sectors such as medicine, food safety, cosmetics, renewable energy etc., Despite its versatile applications and increasing demands, there is a lack of studies reported in fisheries especially an ornamental fish like Golden Asian Arowana (Scleropages formosus). The study signifies the synthesis of nanoparticles specifically derived from the scales of the Red Tail Golden Asian Arowana, an alluring and phenomenal exotic fish imported from Indonesia. This biosynthesized nanoparticles (AgNPs) were further analyzed using UV-Vis’s absorption spectroscopy, Fourier-Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). After 72 hours of incubation, the reaction mixture exhibited a reddish-brown hue and showed an absorbance peak characteristic of AgNPs. SEM analysis confirmed the purity and polydispersity of the AgNPs, with sizes ranging from 10-21 nm. FT-IR results further supported the role of O-H stretching at around 3350 cm−1in reducing metal ions to nanoparticles which further signifies the presence of carotenoids, collagen and minerals, provide a novel avenue for synthesizing nanoparticles in the scale of this golden fish. In this omics era several nanoparticles from plant sources are used in cosmetic industry and medical technology. In same way the obtained silver nanoparticles from freshwater aquatic species like Red tail golden Arowana would be the great addition for this era. This study could explore the scalability of this method in large-scale for production of AgNPs and investigate the applicability of these nanoparticles in cosmetics industry.
