Fish diversity and conservation status of Tuichang River: An assessment based on IUCN listings

Author(s): Beihrosa Solo and Vanlalnghaka C

Abstract: The present study documents the fish diversity of the Tuichang River, with a focus on the conservation status of various species based on IUCN Red List assessments. A total of 27 species belonging to 18 genera were recorded. The conservation status of these species ranges from Least Concern (LC) to Near Threatened (NT) and Data Deficient (DD), with several species yet to be evaluated (NE). The findings provide a critical understanding of the ichthyofaunal composition and emphasize the need for conservation measures for species in vulnerable categories.
