Abstract: In view of contributing to the domestication of Labeobabus batesii, the survival and growth performances of post-larvae according to the type of food were studied between November and December 2019. A total of 1200 post-larvae (150 ± 20 mg), grouped in four batches and distributed randomly in 8 tanks (250 ind / m3), respectively received the compound food (T1), Artemia (T2), cooked egg yolk (T3) and freshwater zooplankton (T4). The results show that: the survival rate and growth performances were significantly (p≤0.05) influenced by the type of food. With the exception of the nutrient quotient whose highest significant (p≤0,05) value was obtained with the egg yolk, the values of the other characteristics were significantly higher (p≤0, 05) with Artemia and the lowest values with freshwater zooplankton. Regardless of the type of food, the post-larvae exhibited minorant allometric growth.
