Author(s): Jeric Bocol Gonzalez
Abstract: At present, no study had been conducted on the species composition, relative abundance, Catch Per Unit Effort and Length-Weight Relationship of the most common caught by handline in Puerto Princesa Bay as confirmed by the paucity of published literature. Hence this study was realized. About 16 species were identified in this study and
Scolopsis taeniopterus was the most common species. This species has an isometric growth. The catch per unit effort varies daily, depending on the condition of the weather. It is recommended to conduct the same study on the other part of the bay using different fishing gears to collect more species from the bay. Also, a year round sample collection to provide a comprehensive data for the size structure of
S. taeniopterus. On the other, hand gonadosomatic index, hepatosomatic index and fecundity of this species in Puerto Princesa Bay.
