Of this huge collection 2390 specimens belonging to 162 species, 78 genera and 33 families have been authentically identified, however only1178 specimens belonging to 157 species, 76 genera, and 32 families of 10 orders have been catalogued in part I by assigning a unique registration No. for future referral study. This is not the final catalogue as the taxonomic study is still in progress and would be published as Part II so as to have a comprehensive database with referral material of the fish diversity in the region for the implementation of proper planning and conservation stratigies.
