Abstract: Variability of production and fishing effort of
Pellonula leonensis in Taabo Lake are evaluated from August 2014 to July 2015 in the catchment areas identified for this purpose. The enumerated fishing areas were Taabo city and Senegalegoum on the left bank, Courandjourou, Antonio, Port and Dyke on the right bank, Big island and Small island in the central part. Our study shows a spatio-temporal variation of the studied parameters. Taabo city (112.83 t), Antonio (57.64 t) and Senegalegoum (59.61 t) was the most productive and exploited catching areas with 75.87% of the fishing effort. There was, also, a seasonal negative correlation between production and fishing effort in the left and right banks. The maximum landing (70.83%) comes from the left bank during the rainy season. In the dry season, the right bank takes over with 50.70 % of production.
