Abstract: The weight- length relationships of 30 fish speciesbelonging to 16 families from the Sô River in southern Benin were studied. The fish were collected from both experimental and artisanal fisheries. The values of the allometric coefficient b resulting from the weight-length relationships ranged from 2,046 to 4, 09 with an average of 3,034. The correlation coefficients are very high and range from 0.626 for
Brycinus leuciscus to 0.996 for
Oreochromis niloticus. These data constitute an important basis for the management of the fish fauna of the Sô River and a reference for future studies.
